Etat de santé à l'arrivée

Jeune hérisson trouvé  il y a deux ans blessé au dos, 2 trous profonds pleins d’asticots, Zeus a été soigné mais il n’a jamais  trouvé un rythme de vie nocturne et de fait a été gardé dans un jardin clos par les personnes qui l’avaient trouvé. Repartant définitivement aux Etats-Unis, Zeus a été ramené au centre.  Il n’y restera  que le temps. nécessaire pour qu’un nouveau jardin clos puisse l’accueillir, en l’occurrence ce sera au Château de Vuillerens.

Diagnostic

En bonne santé à part son problème de rythme diurne / nocturne perturbé.

  • Le 05/06/2017 : Après avoir découpé les piquant on voit mieux les plaies qui grouillent d'asticots

  • Le 05/06/2017 : Il a mal et crie fort ce qui est exceptionnel pour un hérisson. Les plaies sont sans doutes très profondes et douloureuses

  • Le 06/06/2017 : Zeus mange bien le lait special

  • Le 06/06/2017 : il n'a plus d'asticots mais ses selles sont très moches

  • Le 16/06/2017 : Il mange normalement

  • Le 16/06/2017 : Il va rejoindre le parc à Jane

  • Le 02/07/2017 : De retour au centre Zeus m'nquiète beaucoup. Ses selles sont moches et limite diarrhée.

  • Le 09/07/2017 : Toute la semaine on a bataillé contre la diarrhée

  • Le 09/07/2017 : Enfin aujourd'hui les selles s'améliorent

  • Le 12/07/2017 : Zeus mange à nouveau bien, ses selles sont OK. Ouf

  • Le 26/07/2017 : Zeus a enfin dépassé les 500g et tout va bien!

  • Le 31/07/2017 : Zeus est prêt à retrouver la liberté

  • Le 31/07/2017 : Il retourne dans son jardin d'origine

  • Le 08/06/2019 : De retour au centre après quasi 2 ans, Zeus est un bel hérisson adulte

  • Le 08/06/2019 : Il a gardé sa frimousse très reconnaissable.

  • Le 16/06/2019 : Zeus maintient son poids malgré la cour assidue qu'il mène à Joanna

  • Le 19/06/2019 : Idem

I may have made a mistake  confronting him to so many new things too fast: Since you had brought me Zeus, he enjoyed the company of first Zygène (a male) and was quite excited to have company and eating well. Then Joanna joined him in the park once Zygène was freed. He went crazy courting her all the time. He did loose weight but I thought it was just due to his excessive courting. When she left, he enjoyed the company of Divonna and courted her just as much. The day after she left, he died. Was it becaue he found himself alone, was it because it was so hot and he was always outside ? I dont know what to think about all that. One thing for sure, he seemed  really happy to see females again !

Dear Xina,

I’m so sorry to hear about Zeus. What a sad moment for you to discover. It’s not anything you did. Please don’t think that. It was simply his time. Together we gave him two extra happy years that he wouldn’t have otherwise had. He enjoyed a simple, calm life in a safe environment. And he gave the kids of Tannay great joy.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness to delay telling me and protect me from my own high stress state during a transatlantic relocation.
I must say, it makes me smile to know his last days were spent courting and socializing in his crazy unique Zeus way. He must have experienced some great emotions. 🙂
I wish we could join you tomorrow. Thank you for the lovely invitation. However, we are without a car and have many suitcases to pack. I will be there in spirit!
You and your SOS center are one of the major highlights and memories of our Swiss adventure. Thank you for that. We will miss this beautiful country very much.
I will definitely keep in touch. And should you ever pass through NYC, please let me know. I would love to take you out for lunch or a quick coffee.
